The Cuban Genealogy Club of Miami, FL, Inc., is now well into its second year.  The past 16 months have seen a significant surge in membership, signaling the growing interest in familial research.  Reunion, our first genealogy conference, was a resounding success.  Besides the informative lectures on historical and genealogical perspectives, there was the bonus of meeting friends that we had previously only known by screen name.  At Reunion we forged new alliances and traded valuable information.  The membership wishes to publicly thank those that attended.
We invite any of you who are not members to consider joining the Club.  There are many exciting projects in the works, not the least of which is the inception of a Cuban surname database, as contributed by our members, as well as a scholarship fund designated for a young person with an interest in Cuban genealogy. There has also been talk of attempting to initiate communication with genealogists on the island of Cuba itself as a means of exchanging information.
